This contract role calls for a skilled RN to provide exceptional care in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU, working alongside a dedicated team to manage complex patient needs. Your ability to practice independently while supporting the highest standards of clinical care will be vital in this fast-paced, rewarding setting.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 7PM 7AM
- Night shifts
- Every other weekend required
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New Mexico or any current Compact state license
- BLS and ACLS certification via AHA (required)
- TNCC certification required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- One year of ICU or critical care experience strongly preferred (new graduates will be considered)
- Commitment to complete New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care according to the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as DKA, acute respiratory failure, MI, CABG recovery, and ventilated patients
- Provide both routine and advanced care within nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4:1 (IMCU)
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers, addressing emotional, psychological, and social needs
- Document all aspects of patient care and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Meet and maintain annual competency standards and participate in organizational training programs
