Step into a dynamic emergency department within a 123-bed, trauma level III primary stroke center. As a critical care professional, you'll benefit from exposure to diverse case acuity and collaborate with dedicated hospitalists, midlevels, respiratory therapists, and skilled support staff. This assignment offers an excellent platform to learn new workplace practices, strengthen your leadership abilities, and build your resume with specialized experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Schedule/Hours
- Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
- Holiday coverage required every other holiday
- No on-call requirements
- Up to 7 days of approved time off
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience (first-time travelers not considered)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Proficiency in triage, RSI/intubation assist, procedural sedation, restraint protocols, mass transfusions, stroke and neuro alert, trauma, and cardiac (STEMI) care
- Experience with Epic charting (strongly preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to emergency patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics
- Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 days, 1:5 nights
- Respond to diverse clinical scenarios, including chest pain, neurological emergencies, trauma, psychiatric care, and cardiac events
- Coordinate with phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and support techs
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
