Job Description

As a travel RN in the Emergency Department, you will be immersed in a fast-paced environment handling a broad spectrum of casesfrom urgent care and trauma to pediatric and psychiatric patients. The role demands readiness to join the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN and flexibility to cover patient ratios up to 1:5. This is an ideal assignment to broaden critical care skills such as medication titration, managing arterial lines, mass blood transfusions, and chest tubes, while ensuring patient safety and outstanding care are always at the forefront.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week

Qualifications:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in DC (required)
  • NIHSS, TNCC, BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years recent ER experience (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program (required)
  • BSN (highly desired)
  • Cerner EHR experience (required)
  • Must reside at least 50 miles away from DC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care for complex and critical conditions in a multi-specialty ED
  • Coordinate nursing care as the bedside trauma RN
  • Manage medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusions, and chest tube procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Maintain excellence in documentation and patient safety protocols
