Job Description

Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic Emergency Room setting, ensuring patient safety and quality according to professional standards. This contract position in Springfield, TN focuses on delivering skilled and compassionate care throughout night shifts, with a nurse-to-patient ratio designed to optimize attention and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ER patients, following established protocols and best practices.
  • Apply critical thinking and clinical judgment to assess and manage patient needs, including stroke and sepsis protocols.
  • Administer medications, perform IV insertions, and conduct patient triage efficiently.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, providing leadership and supervision during assigned shifts.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Cerner EMR system.
  • Adhere strictly to hospital policies and state Nurse Practice Act requirements.
  • Manage patient loads with a typical ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients in an 8-bed ER setting.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Tennessee or multistate compact license.
  • Minimum one year of Emergency Room nursing experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Proficient in triage, medication administration, IV therapy, and emergency protocols.
  • Ability to work nights, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, without on-call or floating shifts.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competence and patient care standards.

Schedule:

  • Nights, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Block scheduling with maximum one week of time off allowed
  • No holiday shift release time off
