Step into a fast-paced emergency department environment providing high-quality care across a wide range of diagnoses, from chest pain and strokes to trauma and mental health. As an experienced RN in the ER, you will play a critical role in an Emergency Department that manages an average daily census of 85 patients with a strong culture of teamwork and support. This contract opportunity offers flexibility for travelers, requiring skilled, adaptable nurses ready to make a difference.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract role; specific shift details to be discussed during the interview process.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Emergency Department RN
- Active GA RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) required
- PALS and TNCC preferred but not mandatory
- Emergency nursing national certification preferred
- Competency in phlebotomy, IV initiation, and management of critical drips (e.g., Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed)
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpreting rhythms
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive emergency care for a broad spectrum of patient presentations including chest pain, diabetes, abdominal pain, MVCs, HTN, and acute mental health concerns
- Maintain patient ratios typically ranging from 1:3-4, adjusting according to area assignment
- Seamlessly utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and advanced monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, fellow RNs, LPNs, CNAs, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Float within the emergency department and potentially to partner ED facilities as needed
- Participate in a thorough orientation and ongoing departmental education
