An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with Emergency Room expertise in Rochester, NY. This contract position focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care, conducting patient assessments, and collaborating with behavioral health professionals to create effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake assessments through patient and family interviews to collect detailed case histories.
• Plan and provide nursing care tailored to patients medical and emotional needs.
• Make nursing diagnoses and recommend suitable treatment options.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
• Administer and monitor reactions to psychotropic medications and other drugs.
• Arrange further medical attention as required.
• Support patients in understanding emotional disturbances and the importance of treatment.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for both staff and patients.
• Perform vital signs testing, pain assessments, and administer pain management treatments.
• Document all patient information accurately in medical charts, following physician orders.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and maintain thorough records of treatments, immunizations, and lab results.
• Complete administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, typing, and documenting progress notes.
• Provide courteous and professional service in responding to patient and public inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State RN License.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience.
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
