A Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience is needed to support a small critical access hospital in Pahala, HI. This contract opportunity offers a unique setting where nurses provide comprehensive care across emergency, acute, and long-term care areas due to the facilitys integrated model. The role requires flexibility, multitasking, and a strong foundation in emergency nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care in the Emergency Room, acute care, and long-term care units.
• Administer medications and perform procedures for acute and LTC patients when assigned outside the ER.
• Provide backup support across units during low ER census.
• Participate in employee health appointments prior to start date.
• Maintain professional nursing standards and comply with all facility protocols.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license with at least two years of Emergency Department experience.
• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required before assignment start.
• Ability to adapt to a small hospital environment covering multiple areas.
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills.
• Capacity to work six 12-hour shifts totaling 72 hours over two weeks, with every third weekend off.
