Schedule/Hours:
- Multiple shift options: 0700-1900, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, 1900-0700
- Flexible scheduling (including weekends/holidays based on departmental needs; no on-call)
- Four-week schedules, published two weeks in advance
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience (community or acute care)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA); NIH required; TNCC preferred
- Proficient in EPIC EMR documentation
- Demonstrated critical thinking, rapid assessment, and prioritization in urgent care settings
- Strong IV, rhythm interpretation, ventilator management, and emergency medication management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly, uphold patient safety standards, and function independently
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional care to a diverse ED patient population (neonates to geriatric; 10-12% pediatrics)
- Safely manage 1:4-5 patient ratios, emphasizing high-acuity decision-making
- Rapidly assess, triage, and treat presenting emergencies
- Collaborate with ED techs, RTs, physicians, mobility aides, and other staff for optimized care
- Adhere to stringent documentation and safety protocols
- Support departmental needs by demonstrating flexibility and professional dependability
