A healthcare facility in Neenah, WI, is seeking experienced registered nurses for the Emergency Department. This contract role offers the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a primary focus on general emergency care needs including chest pain, abdominal pain, and falls. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years of ER nursing experience and hold essential certifications necessary for critical care situations.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required; CPI/MOAB and ENPC preferred
- Proficient in general ED skillset: PIV starts, blood culture collection, chest tube care, code blue involvement, and triage
- Preferred experience with arterial lines, central lines, thoracentesis, critical care, and pediatric emergency care
- Comfortable functioning as charge nurse occasionally
Responsibilities:
- Patient care for ED patient ratios typically between 1:3-4 during day and night shifts
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, mid-level providers, respiratory therapists, CNAs, paramedics, and phlebotomists
- Utilize charting and monitoring technologies such as EPIC, Alaris pump systems, Pyxis, and telemetry monitoring
- Participate in orientation and training to seamlessly adapt to facility workflow and standards
