Job Description

Provide critical care in a bustling Emergency Department at a well-established Level IV Trauma Center equipped with a Level III NICU and recognized as a Primary Stroke Center. This role offers an opportunity to utilize your advanced nursing skills within a dynamic environment that serves a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive emergency care to patients presenting with conditions including chest pain, strokes, sepsis, respiratory distress, STEMI, and behavioral health medical clearance.
  • Perform clinical skills such as IV insertion, cardiac rhythm monitoring, Foley and NGT placement and management.
  • Apply knowledge in emergency protocols for STEMI, CVA, and sepsis treatment along with medication titration.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, educators, and physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Utilize EPIC EMR system efficiently to document patient care and treatment plans.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current RN licensure with 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience within the past year required; preference for 2-5 years additional experience.
  • Certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS. Certifications such as TNCC, CPI/MOAB, and CEN are preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in general ED nursing with exceptional IV skills and clinical judgment in fast-paced settings.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system within the last 2 years.
  • Commitment to professional appearance with adherence to dress code guidelines.
