Registered Nurse Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Milledgeville, GA
A busy Emergency Department in Milledgeville, GA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with at least two years in emergency nursing to provide high-quality patient care. This travel position offers a dynamic work environment supporting a 22-bed unit plus surge capacity, with an average daily census of 85 patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with diverse emergency conditions such as chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, motor vehicle collisions (MVCs), hypertension, and mental health issues.
- Manage IV drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, and Levophed.
- Perform phlebotomy and intravenous therapy, including PICC line coverage.
- Monitor patients cardiac telemetry using EPIC EMR and specialized equipment including Phillip monitors and Level One Rapid Infuser.
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists in delivering coordinated care.
- Adhere to unit policies and protocols, including participation in weekend rotations and holiday shifts.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active Georgia RN license required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Emergency Nursing.
- Certifications: BLS, Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR), ACLS required; PALS and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system and related emergency department technology.
- Ability to float to a nearby ER location approximately 45 minutes away as needed.
- First-time travelers welcome.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7 AM7 PM or 7 PM7 AM.
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekends per 12-week schedule.
- Holiday coverage required for major holidays.
- No on-call responsibilities.
