A Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience is needed for a contract assignment in Mesa, AZ. This role supports a nationally recognized tertiary care teaching hospital specializing in transplant services and affiliated with a leading neurological institute. The facility offers a dynamic clinical environment providing advanced medical education and research opportunities.
Location Overview: Situated in the greater Phoenix area, this hospital is a 607-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and a teaching facility renowned for excellence in lung, liver, and kidney transplant programs. The hospital is connected with the Barrow Neurological Institute, known globally for neuroscience care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department (ED) using Cerner EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma environment.
- Precept nursing students as part of the institutions teaching mission.
- Adhere to hospital policies including strict dress code (natural hair colors only; no facial piercings).
- Maintain current certifications and complete required exams such as the Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam prior to assignment acceptance.
- Comply with travel assignment criteria including vehicle ownership for commute and timely onboarding completion.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of core ER nursing experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Prior travel nurse assignments in ED or Neuro ICU strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Cerner EMR system in emergency care.
- Ability to pass Day 1 exams including Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam within specified timeframe.
- Must have no current contract conflicts and meet facility-specific onboarding deadlines.
- Commitment to assignments of at least 13 weeks.
Additional Information:
- Weekly orientation sessions on Mondays (except holiday weeks).
- Parking arrangements include shuttle service from assigned lots; night shifts have designated garage parking.
- Facility restricts contract nurses from holding simultaneous contracts within the system.
