Job Description
Provide critical care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting located in Los Fresnos, TX. This contract role supports a 22-bed unit staffed by a dedicated team of approximately 55 professionals focused on delivering high-quality patient care with a patient ratio of 4:1. Utilize your advanced nursing skills to assist with triage, trauma, cardiac alerts, and critical interventions, documenting care using Meditech EMR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform IV insertions, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care.
- Provide moderate sedation for reductions, cardioversion, and assist with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code responses.
- Manage care for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients.
- Conduct triage assessments and prioritize based on ESI guidelines.
- Adhere to isolation and infection control protocols.
- Document care accurately in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity environment.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC certification preferred.
- Strong triage, critical thinking, and trauma/cardiac alert capabilities.
- Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are an advantage but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, compassion, and strong work ethic.
Schedule:
- Day and night shifts available.
- Two weekends per schedule required; no on-call.
