Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with emergency department experience. In this contract role, you will deliver coordinated, compassionate care to patients in the ER, following established nursing standards and the nursing process. The position involves supervising and directing assigned nursing staff while fostering effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Bringing strong critical thinking and independent judgment, youll play a key role in ensuring high-quality care for each patient.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position with variable shift opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in emergency room/ER nursing required
- BLS and ACLS certifications needed; additional certifications such as PALS or TNCC preferred
- Ability to delegate, supervise, and coordinate nursing staff activities
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Prior experience in a float pool is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department
- Assess, plan, implement, and document nursing care for assigned group of patients
- Supervise the activities of nursing staff at varying levels of experience and training
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Apply professional judgment and use critical thinking to adapt care to each unique patient situation
- Maintain compliance with all relevant hospital policies and standards
- Float Pool nurses will track education and non-productive hours accordingly and clock in to units being worked
