Job Description

A nursing professional is needed to deliver expert care in an Emergency Room setting, utilizing established Emergency Nurses Association standards. This contract opportunity is based in Lewistown, PA, offering the chance to apply comprehensive nursing skills across a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric adults. Preference is given to candidates experienced with EPIC computer charting systems.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
  • Certification and maintenance of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Exceptional communication skillsverbal, non-verbal, and writtenwith the ability to maintain professionalism and sensitivity in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to effectively function as a patient advocate and team liaison.
  • Demonstrated emotional resilience and sound judgment when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients promptly to prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs, including consistent monitoring and documentation.
  • Develop and continuously update individualized care plans ensuring availability and functionality of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Manage medical emergencies in compliance with institutional policies and ENA standards.
  • Provide patient and family health education, discharge planning, and support.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient documentation.
