An experienced Registered Nurse with Emergency Room expertise is sought for an essential contract position in Independence, MO. This opportunity requires candidates with a solid background in emergency nursing and proficiency in the Cerner charting system. The role offers a structured schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week, with every other weekend required. Orientation begins promptly on a Tuesday, with a 13-week assignment duration.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Missouri RN license or Compact Nurse License
- Minimum of 2 years ER nursing experience, including travel experience (mandatory)
- Cerner electronic health record (EHR) experience is required, no exceptions
- Certifications current and active before starting: American Heart Association ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- EKG proficiency: Must pass an EKG exam during orientation with a minimum score of 80%, focusing on lethal rhythms
- CPI certification required beginning January 2026
- No block scheduling available
Shift Details:
- Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (18:45 to 07:15)
- Every other weekend shift required
Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients, accurately document using the Cerner charting system, monitor patient vital signs, recognize emergency conditions, and respond efficiently to life-saving protocols. Maintain compliance with all certification and licensing requirements while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
