A critical care nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with emergency department expertise. This role supports a Level 1-3 trauma care environment, delivering comprehensive nursing services to a diverse patient population including stroke, STEMI, post-surgical, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health, and clinic-type cases. The position requires handling complex clinical scenarios independently while coordinating care and contributing to long-term patient management plans.
Responsibilities:
- Apply nursing process principles (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor efficacy and side effects.
- Document patient history, symptoms, treatments, and education provided.
- Assess patient and caregiver learning needs and deliver appropriate education.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- Meet applicable competency standards aligned with professional development as Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license in New Mexico or compact state.
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Emergency Department nursing in a Level 1, 2 or 3 trauma center.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Certifications (AHA approved): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
- Completion of required orientation, competency validations, and ongoing clinical skills assessment.

Schedule:
- 3 PM to 3 AM shift.
