A critical care nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with emergency department expertise. This role supports a Level 1-3 trauma care environment, delivering comprehensive nursing services to a diverse patient population including stroke, STEMI, post-surgical, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health, and clinic-type cases. The position requires handling complex clinical scenarios independently while coordinating care and contributing to long-term patient management plans.

Responsibilities:

• Apply nursing process principles (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor efficacy and side effects.
• Document patient history, symptoms, treatments, and education provided.
• Assess patient and caregiver learning needs and deliver appropriate education.
• Delegate tasks effectively to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
• Meet applicable competency standards aligned with professional development as Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license in New Mexico or compact state.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in Emergency Department nursing in a Level 1, 2 or 3 trauma center.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Certifications (AHA approved): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
• Completion of required orientation, competency validations, and ongoing clinical skills assessment.
