An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care within a dynamic, high-acuity setting. This contract role involves providing skilled nursing to a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics in a large emergency department environment. Nurses in this role will work within a well-structured team following a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 59-bed ER that handles a bustling volume of approximately 165-175 patients per day.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience; first-time ER nurses will not be considered.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS.
• Experience working in a non-trauma, high-acuity emergency department setting, with Stroke and STEMI certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
• Ability to maintain composure and provide quality care in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Must be compliant with all onboarding and orientation requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to emergency patients from adolescents through geriatrics.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in managing high volumes of emergency cases effectively.
• Adhere to protocols for Stroke and STEMI care to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies using Epic.
• Participate in shift work covering three 12-hour days (07:00 - 19:00) and every other weekend.

Additional Role Details:

• Contract position with orientation hours aligned to contract duration.
• Weekend shifts scheduled every other weekend; floating is rare.
• Ability to work scheduled major holidays is required.
