Deliver expert emergency nursing care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting located in the vibrant border city of Harlingen, TX. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic clinical environment where your advanced skills in trauma and critical care will make a vital impact on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care including IV insertions, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, wound care, and moderate sedation procedures.
• Assist with advanced airway management including intubation, rapid sequence intubation, and CPR during code responses.
• Manage care for patients presenting with stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health emergencies.
• Perform triage assessments and prioritize care efficiently using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) guidelines.
• Ensure strict adherence to isolation and infection control protocols in a fast-paced environment.
• Utilize Meditech EMR system for accurate and timely documentation and reassessment.
• Collaborate effectively within a 22-bed unit staffed by a diverse team to maintain a patient ratio averaging 4:1.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred.
• Demonstrated strong triage and critical thinking abilities.
• Experience with trauma and cardiac alerts, including care of STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients.
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged but not required.

Schedule:

• Primarily day and night shifts available.
• Two weekends per scheduling period required.
• No on-call duties.
