Job Description
Step into a dynamic emergency department environment as a Registered Nurse with a focus on ER care. This contract opportunity offers the chance to deliver critical nursing support to a busy emergency department with 22 main beds and surge capacity. The department maintains excellent teamwork among staff and provides care to an average census of 85 patients daily, handling a diverse case mix, including chest pain, strokes, diabetes, trauma, hypertension, mental health, and more.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position with shift details provided during the hiring process
Qualifications:
- Active RN license (GA)
- Two years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) required
- PALS certification required
- TNCC and national emergency nursing certification preferred (not mandatory)
- Strong skills in managing drips (Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed)
- Proficient in phlebotomy, IV management, and cardiac telemetry monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, effective nursing care to patients across a broad range of emergency diagnoses
- Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:3-4 depending on zone assignment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists
- Participate in departmental floating within the ER and, if necessary, to another nearby ER
- Complete one day of orientation plus two days of unit-specific onboarding and educational modules
- Utilize advanced technology, including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitoring systems
