Step into a state-of-the-art regional teaching hospital with over 600 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma designation, and reputable centers of excellence in cardiac and stroke care. The emergency department features 61+ beds and provides an array of patient acuities, from trauma to complex medical conditions. Exposure to a fast-paced ED in a major teaching hospital enables learning from diverse clinical teams, varied leadership styles, and innovative medical technologies.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM7:00 PM or 7:00 PM7:00 AM
  • 6-week scheduling cycle
  • Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12
  • Holiday rotation: one shift per major holiday
  • No on-call shifts

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and two years recent emergency department experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • BCR certificationmust pass EKG competency
  • Proficiency in trauma emergency care and medication drips (Heparin, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, and others)
  • National emergency nursing certification preferred, not required

Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute nursing care to diverse patient populations, including trauma and medical emergencies
  • Collaborate with supportive staff: CNAs, charge nurse, unit secretary, 24/7 RTs, and hospitalists
  • Manage critical interventions using cutting-edge equipment (EPIC EMR, Alaris, Pyxis, advanced telemetry)
  • Participate in department team culture of collaboration and high acuity care
