Step into a state-of-the-art regional teaching hospital with over 600 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma designation, and reputable centers of excellence in cardiac and stroke care. The emergency department features 61+ beds and provides an array of patient acuities, from trauma to complex medical conditions. Exposure to a fast-paced ED in a major teaching hospital enables learning from diverse clinical teams, varied leadership styles, and innovative medical technologies.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM7:00 PM or 7:00 PM7:00 AM
- 6-week scheduling cycle
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12
- Holiday rotation: one shift per major holiday
- No on-call shifts
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license and two years recent emergency department experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
- BCR certificationmust pass EKG competency
- Proficiency in trauma emergency care and medication drips (Heparin, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, and others)
- National emergency nursing certification preferred, not required
Responsibilities:
- Provide acute nursing care to diverse patient populations, including trauma and medical emergencies
- Collaborate with supportive staff: CNAs, charge nurse, unit secretary, 24/7 RTs, and hospitalists
- Manage critical interventions using cutting-edge equipment (EPIC EMR, Alaris, Pyxis, advanced telemetry)
- Participate in department team culture of collaboration and high acuity care
