An emergency department registered nurse opportunity is available in Fond Du Lac, WI, offering a dynamic clinical environment that serves a diverse patient population primarily ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. This contract position provides hands-on experience in a Level III Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation.

Key responsibilities include delivering expert care in managing chest pain, abdominal pain, falls, and critical trauma cases, while maintaining accurate patient assessments and timely interventions. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary teamincluding hospitalists, mid-level providers, respiratory therapists, and paramedicsis essential in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Preferred certifications include CPI/MOAB and ENPC
• Proficient in general ED skills such as peripheral IV starts, blood cultures, chest tube management, and code blue response
• Preferred experience with art lines, critical care, central line placement, thoracentesis, charge nurse responsibilities, and pediatric emergency care
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system

Facility Support and Tools:

• Dedicated unit support with occasional charge nurse assistance
• CNA support with two shared techs and one HUC per shift
• Availability of phlebotomy services for challenging or urgent draws
• 24/7 hospitalist, respiratory therapist coverage, and mid-level providers from 0800 to 2400
• Use of advanced equipment such as Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis medication systems, and Belmont rapid infuser preferred
