Provide critical nursing care in an emergency room setting, focusing on patient assessments, treatment planning, and collaboration with behavioral health professionals. This contract position is based in Fairport, NY, offering an opportunity to utilize specialized skills in an acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough intake assessments with patients and their families to compile case histories.
• Develop nursing diagnoses related to medical and emotional conditions and devise treatment recommendations.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to establish effective treatment plans.
• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor patient reactions.
• Coordinate further medical interventions as needed.
• Support patients in understanding emotional health challenges and the importance of treatment adherence.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and healthcare personnel.
• Perform vital sign assessments and manage pain treatments accordingly.
• Accurately document all patient information, treatments, immunizations, and lab results following standard recordkeeping protocols.
• Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
• Complete administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, typing, and entering progress notes.
• Deliver professional and courteous service responding to patient and public inquiries or referrals.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid NY Registered Nurse license.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or behavioral health settings.
• CPI certification.
