Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) with Emergency Room expertise is sought for a contract assignment in Evans Mills, NY, starting April 6th. This role involves providing critical care in a high-acuity emergency department environment, working the 7p-7a shift over a 13-week period with a 36-hour workweek guarantee. Candidates must be willing to abide by a 100-mile radius rule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to emergency patients, including assessment, intervention, and monitoring.
  • Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations promptly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment such as patient lifts.
  • Assume charge nurse duties as needed, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.
  • Maintain documentation and communication standards in a fast-paced setting.
  • Complete required certifications during orientation and probation, including IV therapy, medication administration, phlebotomy, lethal dysrhythmia exam, and defibrillation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current New York State RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS must be current or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • MEDITECH electronic health record experience mandatory.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is required.
  • Preferred critical care and charge nurse experience.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, leadership, and communication.
  • Ability to perform safely and effectively under stressful conditions.
