A registered nurse with emergency room expertise is needed to provide critical patient care at a well-established medical center in Clayton, NY. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with a guaranteed 36-hour workweek on the 7p-7a shift. Candidates must hold a current New York State RN license and possess BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtain PALS within six months).

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current NYS RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS required or to be obtained within 6 months
• MEDITECH experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
• Ability to recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations
• Proficient in patient assessment, clinical care, education, and safety procedures
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to function effectively in high-stress environments with creative problem-solving abilities
• Certification in IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy required during orientation
• Must pass lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and become defibrillation certified within six months

Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality emergency nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs
• Assess and respond promptly to clinical, mental, spiritual, and educational patient needs
• Utilize lifts safely to move patients and minimize injury risk
• May act as charge nurse, demonstrating strong leadership in managing workflow and delegating duties
• Maintain detailed documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
