Professionally, this travel assignment presents a rare opportunity to develop your nursing expertise in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital renowned for its robust emergency department. Youll work alongside a supportive, multidisciplinary team using state-of-the-art technology, with exposure to both high-acuity care and cutting-edge protocols. Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
- Rotating weekends: 5-6 shifts out of 12 per 6-week cycle
- No on-call shifts
- Holiday coverage required (one major holiday per designated schedule)
Qualifications:
- Unrestricted RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience (first-time travelers considered)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required
- Must successfully complete a Basic Cardiac Rhythm/EKG exam
- National certification in Emergency Nursing preferred but not mandatory
- Competency with high-acuity drips (e.g., Heparin, Insulin, Dopamine, Levophed)
Responsibilities:
- Manage diverse, high-acuity patient populations (e.g., trauma, cardiac, mental health, complex medical)
- Maintain patient ratios per department standards (typically 1:4 RN ratio)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including CNAs, phlebotomists, physicians, and support staff
- Utilize advanced EMR and monitoring equipment (EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, Phillips, etc.)
- Participate in continuous learning through facility and department orientation
