A registered nurse with emergency department (ED) experience is sought for a contract opportunity in Brookfield, WI. This role involves delivering high-quality care in a busy ED setting serving a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including pediatric and behavioral health cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing skills and a solid clinical background to manage urgent and complex patient needs effectively.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience within the past year; preference for 2-5 years total nursing experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (preferred: TNCC, CPI/MOAB, CEN)
- Proficient in general ED nursing skills including IV therapy, cardiac rhythm monitoring, foley and NGT management
- Knowledgeable in STEMI, stroke, and sepsis treatments, along with medication titration
- Recent experience (within last 2 years) with EPIC EMR
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions such as chest pain, respiratory distress, strokes, and sepsis
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other nursing staff
- Participate in patient triage, monitoring, and treatment planning in a fast-paced environment
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
