Working within a 16-bed ED in a Primary Stroke Center, you'll be exposed to diverse cases, including pediatric and adult emergenciesranging from cardiac arrhythmias and strokes to minor traumas and complex medical diagnoses. This environment will further develop your experience with a variety of workplace models, leadership styles, and care teams, helping you build a dynamic and versatile resume.
Schedule/Hours:
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No call required
- Holidays: Must be available for 75% of major holidays
- Up to 6 days off can be approved (excluding holidays), with options to extend the contract if needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years recent ED RN experience (Resource Team requirement)
- Current RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred
- Proficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, ventilation, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments
- Experience using Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for both adult and pediatric patients with varied diagnoses
- Maintain appropriate patient ratios (1:4-5, acuity-based)
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams, including hospitalists, RT, CNAs, and ED physicians
- Willingness to float within the region as required
