Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Electrophysiology (EP) to provide critical support in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias. This contract role is located in Pittsford, NY, and involves working in a fast-paced clinical cardiac electrophysiology lab environment.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for diagnostic electrophysiology procedures such as electrocardiograms, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, and actively monitoring data during procedures. You will assist physicians with pacing, device implantation, and ablation therapies, maintaining sterile fields and coordinating with anesthesia during studies. Maintaining clear communication with physicians, nursing staff, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth scheduling and procedure start times is essential. Documentation will primarily be completed using the Epic system, and proficiency in moderate sedation is required.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active New York State RN license (OLNY)
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a cardiac or electrophysiology setting
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience assisting with electrophysiology procedures, including RF and cryo ablations, device implants, and mapping systems
  • Preferred: Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience; familiarity with GE MacLab or CardioLab systems
