Join a specialized role focused on cardiac care as a Registered Nurse in Electrophysiology in Penfield, NY. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply advanced nursing skills in a cardiac electrophysiology lab setting where precision and patient-centered care are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for electrophysiology procedures including diagnostic tests and interventions such as electrocardiograms, RF and Cryo ablations, and device implants.
- Ensure all equipment and instrumentation are functional prior to procedures.
- Monitor procedural read-outs and assist with lab analysis, relaying critical information to physicians.
- Assist physicians with pacing implementation and the installation of permanent cardiac devices.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and vendors to maintain seamless procedure flow and timely patient care.
- Serve as the sterile circulator nurse, prepping patients and equipment for studies, maintaining fluids for ablation catheters, and supporting anesthesia during procedures.
- Document all procedural details accurately in Epic, maintaining compliance with clinical documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Current NY State RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
- Proficiency in moderate sedation techniques.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with GE MacLab CardioLab system and electrophysiology mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbot Ensite/Precision, or Rhythmia is a plus.
