A specialized nursing role requires an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in electrophysiology (EP) procedures to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac care. This contract opportunity is based in Fairport, NY, offering the chance to work in a dynamic clinical environment focused on cardiac health and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for electrophysiology diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiograms, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Verify readiness and proper function of all equipment and instrumentation prior to procedures.
• Monitor procedural read-outs and recordings closely to assist with lab data analysis and effective communication of findings.
• Support physicians during pacing implementation and the installation of permanent cardiac devices.
• Collaborate efficiently with physicians, anesthesia providers, charge nurses, and third-party vendors to coordinate room setup, timely starts, and seamless room turnover.
• Maintain the sterile field as a circulator during studies and ablations by prepping patients and managing necessary equipment and fluids.
• Document procedure details accurately using the Epic documentation system.
• Provide backup pacing support during device implants and assist with moderate sedation administration.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active NY Registered Nurse license (RN OLNY).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in electrophysiology or related cardiac specialty.
• Proficient in moderate sedation techniques.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred but not required: experience in cardiac implant or structural heart scrub, familiarity with GE MacLab CardioLab systems.

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Radiofrequency (RF) and cryo ablations for atrial fibrillation/flutter, atrial tachycardia, AVNRT, WPW, and other arrhythmias.
• Use of advanced mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott Ensite/Precision, and Rhythmia.
• Device implants including pacemakers (single, dual, CSP, BiV CSP), ICDs, subcutaneous ICDs, leadless pacemakers, loop recorders, and LAAC devices such as Watchman and Amulet.
