A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing in Sugar Land, TX. This contract position supports a busy CVOR unit within a leading healthcare setting, focusing on complex open heart and vascular surgeries. Location:
Situated in Sugar Land, TX, this role is based on the 2nd floor of the Heart Tower at a prominent medical center known for advanced cardiovascular care. Sugar Land offers a charming blend of suburban comfort with access to urban amenities, excellent schools, and numerous parks and recreational options, making it a desirable community within the Greater Houston area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care in a 3-OR CVOR unit with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Support and manage cases involving open heart and vascular surgeries, including CABG, Valve Replacement, Carotid Endarterectomy, ECMO, Angiogram, Fistulagram, Fistula Creation, and Lower Extremity Bypass procedures
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes
- Maintain compliance with unit policies, including a dress code that provides scrubs
- Participate in on-call rotation, averaging 4-5 days per month, including one weekend
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong open heart and vascular surgery experience
- Operating Room experience essential
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR or similar systems preferred
