Job Description

Step into a critical care environment as an RN specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing. This contract role offers an opportunity to expand your expertise while supporting high acuity surgical services in a dynamic hospital setting.

Schedule & Expectations:

  • Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 07:00)
  • Weekend rotation; schedule details provided during the interview
  • On-call required: typically one weeknight per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks
  • Floating within the facility as needed, consistent with your scope of practice

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and BLS certification (additional certifications preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in CVOR nursing; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Strong clinical skills, ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
  • Willingness to work scheduled holidays when they fall within the assignment: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Years Eve/Day (see unit expectations for holiday coverage)
  • Ready to complete full compliance prior to start, ensuring eligibility for the required orientation

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional patient care in the CVOR, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams during complex surgical procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold all hospital policies and protocols
  • Respond to emergency situations when on-call, demonstrating composure and expertise under pressure
  • Float to comparable units as required, utilizing your competency in related clinical areas
