An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. This contract position calls for a skilled nurse to work in a dynamic, high-volume hospital environment, providing essential support during cardiovascular surgical procedures.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts
- 13-week contract
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience preferred
- Proficient with cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile technique
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases of cardiovascular surgeries
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
- Monitor patient status and vital signs, quickly recognizing and responding to changes
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and sterile field protocols
- Document all aspects of care accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with preparing and maintaining supplies, equipment, and instruments for CVOR cases
- Serve as a resource for other staff, fostering a supportive team environment
