Job Description
Experienced registered nurses specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care are needed to support a high-volume hospital environment. This assignment is an excellent opportunity for those who thrive in fast-paced surgical settings and wish to make a significant impact in perioperative patient care.
Schedule:
- 12-hour day shifts
- 13-week assignment
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent CVOR nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- Proven ability to assist in complex cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with CVOR protocols and equipment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of cardiovascular surgery
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and support staff
- Monitor patient status and respond to emergencies with composure and expertise
- Maintain sterile environments and ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols
- Accurately document patient care activities and maintain records per facility and regulatory standards
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and ongoing care as needed
