An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized skills in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing. This contract role is designed for professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality perioperative care in a dynamic surgical environment. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, supporting complex cardiovascular procedures and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Current, valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a CVOR setting
- Proficient in cardiovascular surgical procedures, including patient assessment, circulating, and scrubbing duties
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nursing care throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists for seamless patient care
- Maintain aseptic and safe surgical environments according to established protocols
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently
- Accurately document patient information, interventions, and surgical details
- Monitor, assess, and report changes in patient status during procedures
