Highly skilled CVOR registered nurses with a minimum of three years of recent, full-time experience in a high-volume hospital setting are needed to provide expert care in a dynamic cardiac, thoracic, and vascular operating environment. This contract opportunity is based in Pflugerville, TX, and focuses on a specialized cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) service line that supports a broad range of complex surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection repairs, heart transplants, and VAD placements
• Support procedures involving impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps, adult ECMO, and TAVR within an endovascular OR setting
• Assist in thoracic surgeries including laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures
• Manage vascular procedures such as ESRD graft/fistula placement and revisions as well as endovascular interventions
• Work within a CVOR service line comprising 4-6 ORs with capability to support four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass cases
• Participate in call coverage for after-hours, weekends, and holidays, providing high-level support during urgent situations

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of recent, full-time experience as a CVOR nurse in a high-volume hospital setting with demonstrated proficiency across cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Current ACLS certification preferred
• Verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming independence and no need for training
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment, confidently managing complex cases
• Experience with advanced cardiac surgery equipment and techniques

Schedule

• 10-hour day shifts, Tuesday through Friday, with flexibility to cover call, weekends, and holidays as needed
