Step into a high-functioning, fast-paced Cardiovascular Operating Room environment with a dedicated surgical team. This contract opportunity calls for a skilled Registered Nurse with specialized CVOR experience to provide critical intraoperative care and circulate in a variety of surgical cases.
Schedule:
- Primary shifts start at 6:30 AM, with a daily huddle at 6:45 AM
- On-call shifts required (staff self-schedule 12 per week, weekdays and weekends)
- Weekend coverage is 24-hour on-call Saturday and Sunday
- OR operates in staggered room usage from 7:30 AM until evening; on-call team covers after-hours
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of OR circulating experience in an acute care hospital
- CVOR experience required
- Proficiency in a variety of specialties: General Surgery, ENT, Uro/Gyn, Orthopedics, Robotics
- Current BLS certification
- Preferred: CNOR certification, 5+ years total experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Circulate in operating rooms including two dedicated CVORs
- Manage and prioritize cases covering heavy robotics, gynecology, vascular, colorectal, general surgery, ENT, and urology procedures
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- Accurately chart in Meditech ORM EMR system
- Participate in pre-op holding as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, adapt to changing case loads and surgical priorities
- Attend daily pre-shift huddles and maintain a 30-minute response time for on-call
Additional Details:
- Scrubs provided on-site (hospital policy prohibits artificial nails and enhancements)
- Patient ratio typically 1:1 for OR assignments
