A busy, high-acuity hospital environment is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced surgical setting, supporting critical cardiac procedures and collaborating closely with a dedicated surgical team. The assignment runs for 13 weeks, providing valuable experience in an advanced clinical environment.
Schedule:
- 12-hour day shifts
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years recent CVOR experience required
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and operating room protocols
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing clinical situations
- Prior travel nurse experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub and circulate for cardiovascular surgical cases
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of a sterile operating environment
- Monitor patient status and respond to evolving needs throughout complex procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Uphold strict adherence to infection control standards and safety protocols
- Document procedures, assessments, and patient responses promptly and accurately
