Job Description

An exceptional opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing. This contract assignment is based in the Houston, TX area at a well-equipped surgical department with a focus on cardiovascular procedures. Candidates with strong experience in cardiovascular surgery and a dedication to quality patient care will find this role rewarding and impactful.

Responsibilities include supporting complex CV surgical procedures such as Off-Pump and On-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), vascular bypass surgeries, and carotid endarterectomies. The RN will collaborate closely with an experienced team including circulators, surgical techs, anesthesia techs, and nursing leadership to maintain high standards of patient safety and care in a unit with 11 operating rooms and a cystoscopy room.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years recent CV surgical nursing experience required
  • Proficient in on and off-pump CABG procedures
  • Preferred: prior CV OR and vascular surgery experience
  • Current RN license with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications mandatory
  • Ability to handle 1:1 patient ratios effectively
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and work ethic essential

Shift & Schedule Details:

  • Day shift hours with on-call requirement Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 7 am
  • Call frequency expected to adjust as staffing grows
