Job Description

Experienced Registered Nurses with a background in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing are sought for a contract opportunity. This role provides a rewarding environment for those who excel in high-acuity surgical settings and value collaboration in a dynamic surgical team.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Typical schedules involve rotating shifts with some required on-call coverage, as is standard in CVOR settings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a CVOR environment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
  • Strong knowledge of CVOR procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress situations
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes
  • Monitor patients status and respond to changing conditions during procedures
  • Maintain a sterile and well-organized operating room environment
  • Document nursing interventions and patient responses according to established protocols
  • Educate patients and family members regarding procedures, expectations, and post-operative care as needed
