Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. This contracted role is ideal for a dedicated RN seeking to make a significant impact in a dynamic surgical setting, collaborating closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional cardiac patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of two years experience in a CVOR environment
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Demonstrated expertise with cardiovascular procedures and technologies
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to excel under pressure
  • Proficiency in sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation relevant to cardiac operations

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct perioperative patient care, including monitoring vitals and administering medications
  • Act as a primary RN circulator and/or scrub during open-heart and vascular surgeries
  • Collaborate closely with surgical teams to ensure seamless procedural flow and optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere strictly to infection control protocols
  • Assist with preoperative and postoperative care instructions and documentation
  • Respond to and manage emergency situations using clinical judgement and established protocols
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and continuing education initiatives
