Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures. This role involves supporting advanced surgical teams in delivering exceptional patient care during cardiovascular surgeries.

Location: Charles City, IA

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Day shift, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
  • Approximately 10 to 12 days per month on call
  • Every 3rd weekend on call

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations
  • Adhere to sterile techniques, safety protocols, and patient care standards throughout surgical procedures
  • Assist in preparing the operating room, including equipment and materials specific to cardiovascular surgeries
  • Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes during surgery

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current RN licensure with a focus on cardiovascular operating room nursing
  • Proven experience in CVOR settings, familiar with specialized cardiovascular surgical instruments and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to participate in call schedule as outlined
