Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse with a strong background in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures. This contract position is based in Cedar Park, TX, at a high-volume medical center known for complex cardiovascular interventions. The CVOR service line conducts a wide range of advanced procedures including coronary artery bypass, valve repair and replacement, aortic dissection repairs, heart transplantations, ventricular assist device placements, and advanced support measures such as Impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and adult ECMO. Additional procedures include TAVR in the endovascular OR, thoracic laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries, as well as vascular graft and fistula placements and revisions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert circulator nursing care for adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
  • Independently managing multiple concurrent procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass
  • Participating actively in call coverage after hours and on weekends
  • Maintaining efficiency and patient safety in a fast-paced surgical environment

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years recent full-time experience as a CVOR circulator in a high-volume hospital setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries without need for additional training
  • Verifiable references from at least two prior travel nursing assignments confirming independent performance
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and function autonomously in demanding surgical settings

Schedule:

  • Three shifts per week, 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (weekdays) based on department needs
  • Call coverage required for weekends and after-hours emergencies
