Job Description

Step into a critical role within the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) as a Registered Nurse (RN). This contract opportunity is designed for highly skilled nurses eager to make a significant impact within a specialized surgical setting. Working alongside expert cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff, youll deliver high-quality patient care during complex heart and vascular procedures.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Full-time; scheduling details provided during the interview process

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instrumentation
  • Exceptional critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-acuity environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery
  • Monitor patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, circulating and scrubbing as required during procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and follow established protocols and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in emergency interventions, anticipating needs of the surgical team
  • Contribute to post-surgical recovery processes and patient/family education
