Job Description

Highly specialized surgical care is delivered in this cardiovascular operating room setting, encompassing routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Surgical cases range from coronary artery bypass, valve repair or replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device and balloon pump placement, adult ECMO, and TAVR within a robust endovascular suite. Thoracic interventions include laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures, while vascular cases stretch from ESRD grafts/fistulas to advanced endovascular techniques. The environment supports up to four simultaneous cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.

Schedule:

• Three weekday shifts per week, 11:00 a.m. 11:30 p.m. (specific days determined based on department needs)
• Participation in after-hours and weekend call coverage required

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with at least three years of recent, full-time CVOR circulating experience in a high-volume hospital
• Demonstrated independent proficiency in all aspects of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures
• Strong references from at least two prior travel assignments, specifically confirming readiness to function without significant orientation
• Adaptability and capability to excel in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of cardiopulmonary bypass procedures and current OR technologies
• BLS/ACLS certifications (may require validation depending on facility standards)

Responsibilities:

• Circulate complex surgical cases in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular specialties with confidence and efficiency
• Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high standards of patient safety and care
• Support concurrent procedures as needed and adapt quickly to changing case volume and acuity
• Provide skilled intraoperative nursing interventions and anticipate the needs of the surgical team
• Participate actively in call coverage, ensuring continuous support for urgent and emergent procedures
