Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with eligibility to practice in the state of New York
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to function collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries, heart failure, heart attacks, and related procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms with accuracy and attention to detail
- Implement and evaluate individualized care plans, administering medication and therapies as needed
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment, including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and external pacemakers
- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, physicians, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes
- Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with facility protocols
