Step into a vital role providing high-level care for critically ill cardiac patients in a dynamic Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This contract opportunity is tailored for Registered Nurses with seasoned expertise who are eager to deliver advanced care alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year recent experience in a CVICU or similar intensive care environment
- Proficiency in managing cardiac patients requiring drips, vents, and invasive monitoring
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (issued by the American Heart Association)
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities
- BSN preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to patients recovering from major cardiac procedures or dealing with complex cardiovascular issues
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data, responding rapidly to emergent situations
- Administer and titrate IV medications according to protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other allied health professionals to coordinate integrated care plans
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative or chronic cardiac care and recovery
- Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Uphold strict adherence to infection control and hospital safety standards
