Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license with eligibility to practice in the state of New York
  • Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to function collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries, heart failure, heart attacks, and related procedures
  • Monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Implement and evaluate individualized care plans, administering medication and therapies as needed
  • Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment, including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and external pacemakers
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, physicians, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes
  • Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with facility protocols
