This opportunity places you in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care setting. Youll collaborate with a dynamic, supportive team dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical heart care. The unit is known for its robust nurse leadership, with charge nurses always available for backup and an educator guiding your orientation. Youll deepen your skills by working alongside a team regularly utilizing advanced cardiac devices and supporting a high volume of heart surgery patients annually. This assignment amplifies your expertise, exposes you to varied leadership and care practices, and significantly broadens your resume.
Schedule:
- Shifts start at 6:45 AM or PM; arrive no earlier than 7 minutes before/after
- Every other weekend required
- Floating as needed among ICUs and Stepdown units
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Active RN license, BLS & ACLS certifications
- At least 2 years of recent CVICU or CVRU experience
- Critical care training
- Passion for cardiac surgery care
- High energy and positive attitude
- Preferred: Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room Care
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage advanced cardiac support devices, including ECMO, IABP, Impella, and LVADS
- Perform procedures such as hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube management, and pacer wire removal
- Support intubation/extubation and patient ambulation
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
