Step into a vital role in an advanced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit specializing in pediatric care. This full-time opportunity calls for a dedicated registered nurse with strong experience in pediatric cardiac patients, including managing chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and administering vasoactive infusions. As an independent practitioner, you'll deliver both routine and complex care while working towards long-term clinical goals.
Schedule
- Full-time, Nights: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas or compact states
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 1 year of relevant critical care nursing experience preferred; new graduates will be considered
- Proficiency in pediatric cardiac care required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing competency validation and annual education
- Attendance at New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for pediatric CVICU patients using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer and monitor medications and treatments per physician order and relevant protocols
- Recognize and respond to complex psychological, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
- Delegate and coordinate care activities with other healthcare providers
- Accurately document patient history, interventions, and outcomes
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying key issues and resources
