Step into a vital role in a dynamic cardiovascular intensive care environment, providing advanced, patient-centered care to pediatric patients recovering from cardiac procedures. This full-time contract assignment is an exceptional opportunity for registered nurses who thrive during night shifts (7PM7AM) and who bring specialized knowledge in pediatric cardiac care, including managing chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and administering vasoactive infusions.

What You'll Need:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 7PM7AM
• Unrestricted RN license for Texas or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA recognized)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• At least one year of critical care or CVICU experience is ideal; new graduates considered
• Pediatric cardiac experience required, including hands-on skills with advanced cardiac interventions (chest tubes, pacing wires, etc.)
• Strong clinical judgement, adaptability, and dedication to patient-centered care

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver competent, evidence-based nursing care for pediatric cardiac patients
• Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Recognize and respond to complex emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer cardiac medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring response and documenting thoroughly
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers as needed, identifying knowledge gaps and supportive resources
• Participate in new hire orientation and ongoing competency validation, ensuring continual professional development
