Job Description

Take on a vital role supporting pediatric patients in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, where your advanced clinical skills and compassionate care will make a difference every day. In this contract opportunity, youll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to children with complex cardiac needs.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Enjoy a structured nurse-to-patient ratio by shift: 1:1 and 1:2 for ICU status, and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU levels.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting.
  • Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • Ability to provide specialized, attentive care for critically ill pediatric patients.
  • Strong communication skills and dedication to maintaining a safe, supportive environment for patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from complex cardiovascular procedures and illnesses.
  • Closely monitor patient status, promptly respond to acute changes, and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications, manage equipment, and document all interventions according to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Advocate for patients and their families, providing education and emotional support throughout the care process.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment within the unit, ensuring protocols are followed for the highest quality patient outcomes.
